Contributions and Acknowledgments
The long-term monitoring of the Belvedere Glacier is led by the Laboratory of Geodetic and Photogrammetric Measurements (LabMGF) Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.
UAV Surveys (2015-2017)
The UAV surveys conducted from 2015 to 2017 were a collaborative effort between DICA and the Department of Environment, Land and Infrastructure Engineering (DIATI) at Politecnico di Torino. The DREAM 1, DREAM 2, and DREAM 3 projects (DRone tEchnnology for wAter resources and hydrologic hazard Monitoring), with participation from Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP) of Politecnico di Torino and Milano, significantly contributed to these campaigns.
Short-term monitoring the northwest terminal lobe with time-lapse cameras
The students and collaborators of the Kuoleva Jäätikkö project from Alta Scuola Politecnica (ASP) were instrumental in installing and maintaining the stereoscopic camera system for short-term monitoring of the northwest terminal lobe. Additional support in data analysis and processing from the stereo cameras was provided by the Research Institute for Geo-Hydrological Protection (IRPI) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) and the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) at the University of Twente.
Historical Image Digitalization
CGR SpA played a crucial role in digitizing historical images to build the 3D reconstruction of the Belvedere Glacier for the years 1977, 1991, and 2001.
Summer School Participants
We extend our gratitude to all the students who participated in the Summer School "Design and Implementation of Topographic Surveys for Territorial Monitoring in Mountain Environments" since 2016 and contributed in the UAV surveys.
